Nudists vs Swinging
It has been a month since our last podcast. We apologize! We have had several new experiences to talk about and effected our growth (or lack thereof) in the lifestyle. Adam and Eve “double date” at Club Sapphire. Eve’s date is a known friend but she comes away feeling very disappointed with the experience. Adam arranges a date with a brand new single woman and comes away feeling very successful. They talk and discuss their future in the lifestyle as they take a break. Adam and Eve also attended a house party hosted by Matt and Bianca who produce the podcast “Everybody Swing” (both audio and video) as well as the lifestyle website EverybodySwing.com
Our swinging primer this week features Nudists vs Swingers; A primer on traveling to “Adult Only Clubs and Resorts and approaching nudists as a member of the swinging lifestyle. Speaking of nudist/adult only resorts, we also chatted with Penn (of Penn and Paige, The Swinger Diaries) about Sea Mountain Resort in Southern California.

Baseball and Swinging
Adam finds a single lady while Eve is away with family and arranges a play date at the club. Throw in another couple and the single lady and Eve is uncomfortable with the situation but they play anyway. This makes for an unusually tense club experience for the two. Adam and Eve also meet a new couple they think will become good friends and when that turns south the two of them find out why swinging is a little like baseball.
Our swinging primer this week focuses how people react when they are turned down or rebuffed in the lifestyle. Adam and Eve met a couple and thought they had a decent connection. They drove home and the next morning received the text that said we were a “Near miss”. How did they react and how do others in the lifestyle react to such surprising news?

Adam and Eve celebrate Eve’s birthday at Portland’s Club Privata. Five couple friends joined them but Adam and Eve only played together. They also tried to arrange a play date with two singles. Adam’s hot date showed, but Eve’s canceled in the last hour before date time. A sudden change of plans leads to a hot night at Seattle’s Club Sapphire as Eve takes advantage of single and available men at the club. Adam learns about a new body.
Our swinging primer this week focuses on where to find swingers. It is a secret society and running into them can be a trick if you don’t have someone that can deliver some of the inside secrets!

Why Swinging is Like Baseball
There is a conversation over on SwingLifestyle.com where we have been getting a lot of comments for our upcoming podcast.
We met a couple last night and thought we had a decent connection. We drove home and this morning received the text that said we were a “Near miss”. Perhaps I am not taking that kind of rejection really well, but it fell right in with what we were going to talk about on our next podcast. Swinging is a lot like baseball…there is a lot of failure (someone that hits 30% is held in high regard in baseball but I think our average is closer to 10% if that). It is humbling and really gets some people.
If you are turned down how do you handle it? Do you analyze it and try to improve or just say screw them we are whom we are and forge our path.

Almost nothing happened during the period of time between podcasts until a split minute choice to go to Seattle after a Saturday afternoon hike. We finally got together with our single male friend for an MFM and it was everything we thought it would be! As a bonus, later that night, we visited Seattle’s Club Saphire for the first time.
In this episode, we talk about the nuances of “Cuckold” relationships and compare and contrast them with the “Hotwife” relationship.

Hotels and House Parties
It has been almost a month since our last podcast but lifestyle activities have been few and far between with Eve’s work schedule. We talk about our dancing fun with a couple that are slowly becoming better friends despite Eve’s subtle resistance. We talk about dating/playing separately and how at this time, it is not the right thing for us. Adam talks about the new episodes of Showtime’s reality series “Gigolos” and the reasons why the series is important to him. In addition, he brings out yet another piece of his past and how he got started in the lifestyle. Portland’s Club Privata opened on April 2nd, and Adam was there to experience opening night.
In this episode, we talk about hotel and house parties. We take letters from listeners and comments from non-listeners and discuss the ins and outs of hotel and house parties.

Jealousy and Drama in the Lifestyle
We had a very lively two weeks since our last podcast. In our own lives, a difference in style released the ire of Eve. Adam tends to linger with playmates, possibly breaking a lifestyle rule. We have met new couples, tried to engage a single again and Adam completed a boudoir (lifestyle photography shoot). We have been having fun!
In this episode, we talk about jealousy and drama in the lifestyle. Both are a part of life, but it can be clear at times that some people either should reframe from the action, or sometimes even seasoned swingers should just take a break. We give a tip of the cap to the positive relationships that we have observed in the lifestyle and we also browbeat a good long list of toxic examples.

The Swinging Smorgasbord
Not much has been going on with us in the lifestyle, but we continue to live vicariously through other podcasters!

This episode is much longer than we had ever hoped to have!
In this latest episode, we meet a single guy and discuss sexual attraction or not. We also talk in great detail about Adam’s birthday party that turned into a nice little sexy time mixed with a little drama and circumstance.
In part two of this uncomfortably long podcast, we talk about the last major academic study on swinging in 2009 by Edward M. Fernandes and compare that with our real life experiences. We discuss all kinds of swingers we have met in our time in the lifestyle.

Club Privata Update

What’s happening at Club Privata? Well let us tell you……
The wood floors are being sanded this week, new vinyl flooring will be installed in the buffet/ eating areas, lots and lots and lots of painting is being done (inside and outside the play rooms, the doors are being painted , the hallways, the existing wood bar chairs are being repainted, the dance floor walls will be painted, and much, much more), some walls have been knocked down, the booths in the eating area were ripped out, the floor behind the 1st floor bar had to be completely ripped out and replaced, the floors were resealed in the kitchen area, a new dance cage was ordered, new bed bases are being built for the 3rd floor, mattresses are on order, a linen service has been selected, a new stripper pole was installed on the 2nd floor, the DJ booth was expanded so now the DJ can be more in touch with our members, new stereo equipment is on order, lounge furniture for the 3rd floor will be ordered soon, chandelier lighting will be installed through out the third floor, a redesigned bar is in the works for the 3rd floor, signage for the club interior is out for bid and we have an art curator working on our first art exhibition for when the club opens.
Whew, that’s a lot and we must be forgetting something because so much has been happened over the past few months. We can hardly wait to open the doors!
A huge THANK YOU to our partners, our supporters and volunteers. We could not continue down the path we are on without all of you.
And last, we are still waiting patiently to hear back from the OLCC. Once we do we will definitely be making an announcement followed by a potential Grand Opening date for Portland’s hottest lifestyle friendly club – Club Privata!
